Market exchange rate

The rate at which currency is actually bought or sold at a given moment, which differs by counterparty and size.

Updated 2026-07-26

A market rate is a quote from someone willing to trade. It has two sides, moves continuously, depends on size and counterparty, and includes whatever margin the provider charges.

That is why a conversion computed from a reference rate and the amount a bank actually credits you are different numbers, and the difference is not an error in either.

This site publishes only official reference rates, because those are published by their issuers for reuse. Where a page needs a market rate, it says so and shows nothing rather than substituting a benchmark.
